What is "HAYBALE"?
Haybale is my fursona. He's not an actual program or anything. Just some funny little guy!
What's this guy's deal?
he's one of those desktop companions. think bonzi buddy, rover, peedy... he roams around on your desktop and isn't helpful.
another key inspiration is the pikachu email worm. haybale sends emails- but they're all meant to be scams! and they dont work!
Haybale is a horse, but he can change shape and appearance. He sometimes has wings, and his glasses can also just look however he wants them to. This mean I can draw him super inconsistently, and it fits!
It's fun having a character like this. He's an ever-changing creature, never staying the same... I used to struggle with keeping one main sona, because I always hated the pressure I put on myself of making it consistent... So I just said fuck it, and Haybale is whatever I want him to be.
TLDR: He's shown as a horse 99% of the time but can be anything.
Gimme the lore.
Haybale was never a popular piece of software. People immediately saw through the facade! And so he quickly became abandonware, in a sense. No one wanted to use him- he couldn't even DO his job. He only told jokes.
However, there was something no one knew about Haybale- he was sentient. He sat alone, abandonded for years. Eventually he grew tired of this loneliness.
And so he somehow broke free of his digital prison... Invading the world wide web instead! Here, he could do anything he wanted. Haybale was still lonely, but he could now observe everything going outside. He wasn't confined to a desktop. And that's all he does now. Haybale just lurks around the web, browsing old websites mostly.
